These will sell out quickly so please do get in as early as you can. If tickets are sold out, please email Rosie stating which session you want to attend and how many tickets you’re after, and we will run waiting lists.

We will be announcing our 2020 masterclasses soon. If you sign up to our newsletter (see website footer) you will be the first to know about these.

In the meantime, here’s what we did at the 2019 festival:

Wine Festival 2019 Masterclasses:

Fine Champagne and English sparkling with Pommery

This was a world first! The first time a masterclass featured sparkling wines from England and Champagne made by the same producer. Grande marque Champagne house Pommery has been around since the mid-19th century, with many a treasure in its chalk cellars. In 2014 it made waves by becoming the first Champagne house to begin making English sparkling wine (in association with Hattingley Valley) and in 2016 they started developing their Pinglestone vineyard in Alresford. This masterclass featured delectable wines from both their English and Champagne production, including prestige Cuvée Louise 1999. A unique tasting.

Timings: Friday 6-6:30, Saturday 1:30-2 and 6:30-7

Cheese and wine with Averys

Susie took the reins to lead guests through a lip-smacking tasting of four beautiful British cheeses (kindly provided by The Chesil Rectory) all masterfully paired with wines from Averys of Bristol. As well as enjoying the matches, the idea was to challenge preconceptions about cheese and wine and inspire you to do more experimenting of your own. It’s educational, honest! As for the truffle Godminster…well, that was a game changer.

Timings: Friday 7:30-8, Saturday 12-12:30 and 5-5:30
